For women considering adoption, they often encounter a lack of education, resources and loving support necessary to make this difficult and sensitive decision on their own. In 1995, Casa Teresa made the decision to open a separate home for women choosing adoption, Hannah's House, and to address specifically the needs of women choosing adoption. We are the only program of its kind. There is no other maternity home in Southern California, and possibly the country, that has invested the resources in a residence to separate women planning for adoption from those planning for parenting. Regardless of the financial risks, we have been deeply committed to supporting this option. Women come from all over because we are the only program of its kind- there is a real need! What women will receive at Hannah's House:
Hannah’s House provides a full program for every resident including:
♥ Advocacy — Residents are linked with pre-screened adoption agencies.
♥ Perinatal Care — The on-staff Nurse provides health assessments, instructional classes and care.
♥ Counseling — Our on-staff Psychologist provides individual and group counseling.
♥ Case Management — Case Managers provide guidance, assist in setting goals, addressing addictions and aid in developing skills that will lead to jobs that pay a living wage.
♥ Life Skills Classes — Residents attend classes on finance management, domestic violence prevention, self-esteem, career planning and computer literacy.
